I'm a software engineer who started out as a medical doctor. After four years of building telecom systems that serve millions of users, I'm now at the University of Rochester building medical AI models that doctors can actually trust in clinical practice.

Current Research
Research Assistant, Medical Computer Vision
Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester Medical Center
- Developing on-device, image-based screening systems that run entirely offline, even on entry-level iOS and Android phones.
- Training U-Net segmentation models in PyTorch and optimizing them with TensorFlow for fast, efficient inference on mobile devices.
- Building a Tauri desktop app so clinicians can run the models and review results locally, backed by an on-premise Flask and MongoDB service that keeps patient data in house.
- Working directly with clinical teams in dentistry and orthopedics so their feedback shapes both the models and the final product.
